What a busy week it has been!
The Extended Day had their field trip to North Park to learn all about Maple Sugaring. They got to see the process of tapping a tree all the way to finally tasting the product that the tree produces! They were so engaged and asked all of the appropriate questions. Our students are so lucky to be able to take trips like this!
They came back from their trip and learned some more about "helicopter seeds" from the maple tree. They made them out of construction paper and released them from the top of the staircase.
The highlight of their week was overwhelmingly the 100 Day Celebration which took place on Tuesday! They participated in all things 100. They counted out items to put into their 100 Day Snack, made necklaces using 100 beads, made Sunglasses in the 100 shaped outline, and rotated between other math related activities. What fun!!!
The toddlers enjoyed another special reader this week from Extended Day. They enjoy it so much when the Kindergarten students come in to read to them. The toddlers really look up to them and can't wait until the day that they can also be a Kindergartner! The Kindergarten students take such pride in this as well!
Please continue to turn in your surveys for camp. This gives us a real sense of summer numbers we can expect and also helps us in the planning and preparation. We will be sending home a packet of information with the weekly themes and registration info next week in the Thursday folder.
Remember that WPMS will be closed for AMS Teacher Training on Friday, March 11th.
Have a great weekend!
