“The first essential for the child’s development is concentration. The child who concentrates is immensely happy.”
~Dr. Maria Montessori
Kindergarten Program
The Kindergarten Program is very unique at WPMS. Children spend 5 days per week in their Montessori 3-6 primary classroom during their morning and afternoon work cycles. Part of their afternoon is spent with just their peers completing special projects and focusing on specific Kindergarten work plans. They enjoy their time in a leadership role in their 3-6 classes as well as their peer group time as they extend their day learning together to prepare for first grade. The Kindergarten class takes many special field trips during the school year as well. Acceptance into our Kindergarten Program is based on previous Montessori experience. The majority of our Kindergarten students have completed two years in the Primary Class before entering our Kindergarten as a Third Year student here. We will accept Montessori transfer students as well. Please contact the office with additional questions about our Kindergarten program.
